Since the founding of the Christian faith and establishment of the church in the first century, followers of Jesus have held to certain core beliefs.
In essential beliefs we have unity.
There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all. - Eph. 4:4-6
The Bible is the written Word of God
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. ”
- 2 Tim 3:16-17
Jesus is the Son of God
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
You must be born again
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” - 2 Cor. 5:17
Followers of Jesus are able to be Spirit-filled and Spirit-led
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8
“And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit,” Acts 13:52
In non-essential beliefs we have liberty
“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters… Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? So then each of us will give an account of himself to God… So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.”
Romans 14:1,4,12,22
In all our beliefs we show love
If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.
1 Corinthians 13:2
God is the Master Artist.
Art takes nature (His Creation) as its model, and communicates what is deep within us.
We desire to use art to Glorify God and express His heart for the world. The bottom line in all that we do is to honor Yahweh. This encompasses all aspects of our lives. How we speak, how we think, what we do, and how we treat one another.
Let us do our very best in everything we put our hand to, because it reflects to our students and to the world around us exactly who we are and whom we serve.
